The two economic zones in the municipality of Mitrovica, the Business Park and the Industrial Park, are seen as very important in economic development, especially due to the fact that this city has had very high unemployment and marked poverty.

Rrustem Abiti, executive director of the Center for Socio-Economic Development 'Diagram' in Mitrovica, told KosovaPress that these two areas affect the economic development, not only of Mitrovica, but also beyond.

According to him, 22 mostly small and medium-sized businesses operate in the Business Park alone, employing over 100 workers whose income supports their families.

He said that these businesses have the help of the state, because the different Ministries every year allocate grants or subsidies from which the business companies that are here can benefit.

The director of the Directorate for Economic Development and Tourism in Mitrovica, Elvis Feka, emphasized the commitment of the municipality in strengthening these economic areas, as he mentioned the great potential these areas have in the development of businesses and the economy in general in Mitrovica.

Feka announced the commitment to the partialization of business properties in the Business Park, extending the contracts for 99 years, while he said that the advantage of the Industrial Park is that the plots for various businesses in this area, in addition to being given for long-term use, they have no rental costs.

On the other hand, Gëzim Jupolli, operational director at the printing press 'Vip Print' that operates within the Business Park in Mitrovica, said that the company he works for is developing a very successful business.

According to him, around 70 workers are employed here who work in three shifts, while providing services to clients all over Europe and the USA.

Jupolli mentioned the help of the state, which he said has never been lacking, but has highlighted the lack of professional staff among the most challenging points of this Company./A.Damati/
