The last two murders of women by their husbands are being considered as an alarm for the state. Law enforcement institutions are said to have failed to prevent tragic cases, even though the doras had a criminal past. Those familiar with the legislation in force say that there should be a maximum penalty of life imprisonment. This morning, Kosovo was shocked by the murder of a woman from Peja by her husband. The President of Kosovo has announced that tomorrow will be a day of national mourning in Kosovo in memory of all women and women's daughters.

Lawyer Ardian Bajraktari declares for KosovaPress that the murder of the woman from Peja should be an alarm for the institutions. The husband of the woman killed in Peja, he adds, has faced the law before and received a ridiculous sentence for domestic violence.

Arrita Rezniqi from the Kosovo Institute for Justice also says that the institutions are failing to prevent murders of women. Penalties for cases of domestic violence, as she adds, are low and the goal is not being achieved.

The member of the Commission for Human Rights, Albana Bytyqi, demands tougher punishments for the perpetrators of these crimes. The Council for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms has also reacted to the two tragic cases of murder of women. A day ago, 21-year-old Erona Cokli was killed by her ex-husband. Dorasi allegedly left her and her 15-year-old brother injured at the Center for Social Work in Ferizaj. /Sh. Pajaziti
