The migration of Kosovo's citizens and the drop in the birth rate are reasons that are pushing citizens to think that the total number of the population will be lower in the new census that started on April 5 than in 2011, which according to statistics it turned out to be about 1 million 700 thousand. Citizens who do not want to join the registration process will face fines from 30 to 2 thousand euros, the Statistics Agency of Kosovo (ASK) has warned, while there will be a prize game for those who correctly guess the number of inhabitants current in Kosovo. Citizen Nehat Kekaj told KosovaPress that the number of residents will decrease by 10-15 thousand compared to 2011, since according to him, most of the citizens have migrated to foreign countries. Another citizen says that the number of the population will be 1 million and 685 thousand, since this number would be very high if there was no migration.
