The Government of Kosovo has three days left of the last legal deadline for approving the budget for 2024, while the opposition demands from the government a development budget and more budget for the army, police, capital investments, salary increases and the creation of new jobs. of work.

The Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers says that the drafting of the annual budget for 2024 reflects the governing program and is coordinated with the estimates of the International Monetary Fund.

Deputy from the ranks of the PDK, Ferat Shala, expresses his skepticism that it will be possible to draw up a development budget by the Government of Kosovo for the year 2024.

Deputy Shala demands that the next year's budget be planned, while adding that the one of 2023 has had insufficient realizations.

Member of the Parliamentary Budget Committee, Shala, tells KosovaPress that the Government should think more about capital investments.

Meanwhile, the deputy from the ranks of the LDK and at the same time the chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee for the Supervision of Public Finances, Hykmete Bajrami, has expressed her concern regarding the change in the budget structure over the years.

According to her, the Government should consider allocating a large part of the budget to capital investments.

The MP from AAK, Pal Lekaj, also says that the Government is not being transparent about the drafting of the budget. However, this party has given some proposals on what should be included in next year's budget.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance, in a written response to KosovaPress, said that the drafting of the annual budget for 2024 reflects the governing program and is coordinated with the estimates of the International Monetary Fund.

The Government of Kosovo had approved the Draft Law for the budget of 2023 in the amount of 3 billion and 212 million euros.
