Exhibition in "Prishtina Mall", from April 6 to 29.
On the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the first edition of Carlo Collodi's book "The Adventures of Pinocchio - the story of a wooden doll", the most translated Italian text in the world, the exhibition "Pinocchio very dear: Italian designers and graphic artists" comes to Kosovo remodel the world's most famous wooden doll". The exhibition opens at "Prishtina Goods". Entry will be free from April 6 to 29, 2024 (every day from 10:00 a.m. to 22:00 p.m.).The exhibition is presented by a historical section, curated by Marco Belpoliti, which welcomes the visitor with historical covers, drawings and illustrations and ends with a selection of original drawings, taken from one of the last works of Andrea Branzit, architect, designer, theoretician and indisputable protagonist of the radical avant-garde, who passed away recently, to whom the exhibition is dedicated.
The heart of "The Much-loved Pinocchio" are 62 new projects by 31 designers and 31 graphics, created especially for the exhibition, expressing the feeling and work of so many Italian designers: an expanded view, able to tell the story of the skill of Italian design to create timeless images and objects, thus celebrating the myth of Geppetto, creator and father of Pinocchio, "the first Italian designer", according to curator Iacchetti.The inauguration of the exhibition in Pristina will take place on Saturday, April 6, at 19:00. In addition to the presentation of the exhibition, a special reading in Albanian of "Pinocut" dedicated to children with games and prizes is planned.
"The 140th anniversary of Collodi's book is an opportunity to celebrate and commemorate a masterpiece of Italian literature, but also to highlight the multidisciplinary nature of the design that inspired the figure of Pinocchio, a design that is the legacy of a cultural wealth capable of asked questions to answer daily needs", explains the Italian Ambassador in Kosovo Antonello DeRiu.
"The Adventures of Pinocchio. The story of a wooden doll" is a fantasy novel for children, written by Carlo Collodi, the pseudonym of the journalist and writer Carlo Lorenzini, first published in Florence in February 1883. It recounts the tragicomic experiences of Pinocchio, a wooden puppet who is regarded by the carpenter Geppetto as his son, who, thanks to the help of the blue-haired Fairy, manages to mature morally until becomes a real child. The first Albanian version of the book was published by Cuk Simon in 1935.
