The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, today hosted the US ambassador, Jeffrey Hovenier, in a regular meeting, where they discussed the latest developments in the country. President Osmani emphasized the serious violation of human rights and the agreement on freedom of movement by Serbia, through the detention of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo in the border areas and their unacceptable treatment, as well as the illegal arrests of members of the Kosovo Police. .

"The meeting also discussed the process of Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe, as well as the preparations that are being made for the smooth running of the voting process that will be held this weekend in the north of the country," the communiqué states.

The topic of discussion was the preparations being made as well as the coordination with the allies on the eve of the next meeting of the United Nations Security Council, where Kosovo will be represented by President Osmani.

On this occasion, Ambassador Hovenier congratulated President Osmani for a successful edition of the International Forum for Women, Peace and Security, appreciating her and Kosovo's commitment to advance this agenda in the country, as well as internationally.
