The economic situation during the government of Prime Minister Albin Kurti has marked stagnation and degradation, causing an increase in poverty, unemployment and the departure of investors.

This is what the coordinator in the Department of Economy in the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Arben Mustafa, says in an interview for KosovaPress, as he mentions that during the last three years, there has been impoverishment of all classes of citizens, due to the increase in the prices of basic products and other factors that call for this condition.

Mustafa calls the ruling party's leadership of the economy a failure, for which he says that the level of capital investments for 2023 is similar to that of 2012, when Kosovo had only half the budget it has today.

For this failure and many others assessed by the PDK, the latter are demanding that early elections be held in June this year, while they have proposed the mayor of Mitrovica, Bedri Hamza, as a candidate for prime minister.

Mustafa estimates that the increase in the trade deficit is another failure of this government, while pointing out that the revenues in our country are being spent to buy goods that come from abroad.

Also, he emphasizes that the economic situation in Kosovo is currently uncertain, for which he mentions the private sector for lack of support from the state, except for the favored ones.

The departure of investors is being considered as one of the important factors affecting the deterioration of the country's economy.

Mustafa compares the level of capital investments for 2023 with that of 2012, when Kosovo, according to him, had half the budget as of today.

According to Mustafa, capital investments, which are the most important category of public spending to create well-being and economic development, have not been prioritized during this government.

Among other things, the coordinator in the Department of Economy in the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Arben Mustafa, points out that product prices are continuously increasing, making life difficult for citizens.
