Today, the General Assembly of the Academy of Sciences of Albania elected Mira Murat, CEO of OpenAI, and Lulzim Tafa, a well-known poet from Kosovo, as external members of this academy.

Mira Murati, is one of the most influential Albanians in the field of technology, who became known to the world public for her role in artificial intelligence (AI) and the successes achieved in the field of technology, as chief executive at OpenAI.

Meanwhile, the poet Lulzim Tafa is known for his art, as one of the most translated Albanian poets in the world, at the same time laureate of many international awards. He has won dozens of prestigious international prizes for literature, while holding many honorary titles in world academies and universities. Recently, Lulzim Tafa was also decorated by the French president, Emmanuel Macron, with the "Officer of the National Order of Letters and Arts" decoration, which is the highest decoration that the French state gives in the field of art and literature.

In addition to Mira Murat and Lulzim Tafa, in the General Assembly of the Academy of Sciences of Albania, Lea Ypi, Gëzim Alpio and Angjelin Perljucaj were elected as its members.
