The Democratic Party of Kosovo has asked the Kurti Government and the Office of the Energy Regulator to immediately start the process of reducing the price of electricity bills, as well as to hold accountable before the law all actors who have abused these situations in the energy sector.

In a press conference, the vice-president of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Uran Ismaili, said that the doubling of the price of electricity bills has burdened the citizens at this time when they were also facing price increases in essential products.

According to Ismail, when 19 percent of families in the country live below the poverty line, it is unfair to do this price manipulation.

He added that the government's policy to help pensioners and children with 100 euros is being proven to have been separate funds for KEDS.

According to him, this doubling of prices is baseless, while he added that the ambassador of Kosovo in Slovenia, Martin Berishaj, was involved in the biggest regional scandal of energy trading and money laundering.

He also criticized the Kurti Government for not taking any action to build new energy production capacities, as it allocated 113 million euros to pay the Serbs for electricity in the north. /KosovaPress/
