The Administrative Instruction for combined remarks, which derives from the Law on Tobacco Control, has entered into force.

According to the Ministry of Health, the purpose of this Administrative Instruction is to determine the rules for placing photographs or other illustrations and informative text-messages about the negative effects of smoking, on the packaging of tobacco and tobacco-related products.

"By placing health warnings on tobacco products, it is intended to raise the knowledge of smokers about the negative health effects caused by the use of tobacco products and, also, it is intended to encourage the cessation of smoking as well as to discourage the initiation or re-initiation of smoking. of tobacco", the announcement states.

According to the ministry, the application of combined warnings or warnings about the dangers of smoking is a measure that, based on scientific evidence, in different countries where it has been applied, has influenced the reduction of tobacco use, especially among young people.

"This administrative instruction entered into force on April 25, 2024," the ministry's announcement states.
