The meeting of the Committee for Budgets, Labor and Transfers lasted about four hours, whose members reviewed a series of financial reports of several institutions, but there was no quorum for approval. There was no quorum even for the approval of the agreement for social housing and the construction of a sewage treatment plant in Ferizaj. At today's meeting of this commission, the loan agreement between Kosovo and the Development Bank of the Council of Europe for the adequate social housing project was reviewed. The Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, said that this agreement is worth 25 million euros and enables the development of the social housing system in the country.

The opposition has reacted to this, where the deputy of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti, said that this agreement was not on the agenda. He emphasized that the government has deceived the citizens in the electoral campaign, by promising them social housing. The deputy of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Mërgim Lushtaku, also criticized, who said that the government is feeding the citizens with hopes.

This commission did not have a quorum for the voting of this agreement, nor the one between Kosovo and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the Ferizaj wastewater treatment project. In advance, Minister Murati emphasized that the main financier is the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, but also supported by a grant from the Western Balkan investment framework. This project will be completed, Murati added, in December 2027. The Budget Committee has also reviewed the annual financial report of the National Audit Office for 2022 and 2023. The auditor general, Vlora Spanca, raised the issue of employee layoffs, while emphasizing the intervention of power with the Law on Wages.

In the meeting of this commission, the financial reports of the Information and Privacy Agency, the Corruption Prevention Agency and the Independent Supervisory Council for Civil Service were examined, but there was no quorum for their approval. Meanwhile, the commission has not reviewed the medium-term budget framework of the Assembly of Kosovo for the period 2025-2027. /Sh. Pajaziti
