The Lebanese group Hezbollah announced today that it targeted two military positions in northern Israel in response to attacks on "civilian homes in southern Lebanon" where three people, including two members of the Iran-linked group, died last night. Hezbollah "carried out a complex attack, using explosive drones and guided missiles, on the headquarters of the Al-Manar military command and the gathering of forces of the 51st battalion of the Golani brigade," the Lebanese Islamic movement said in a statement. The Israeli IDF in a statement on Saturday evening announced that the Iron Dome Air Defense System intercepted a suspicious aerial target that crossed from Lebanon to the Menara area of northern Israel.
Also, many anti-tank missiles launched from Lebanon were identified moving towards the Menara area. The IDF hit sources of anti-tank fire. Earlier on Saturday, Israel Air Force jets struck a Hezbollah military facility in the Qouzah area of southern Lebanon, according to the Jerusalem Post. Since the start of the war between Israel and the Palestinian movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip on October 7, there has been a daily exchange of fire between the Israeli army and Hezbollah, which supports the Palestinian Islamist movement. Pro-Iranian Hezbollah, which has an arsenal of precision missiles, targets Israeli military positions and locations near the border, and Israel responds by bombing targets on Lebanese territory, mostly in the south, including targeted attacks on Hezbollah and Hamas officials. Conflicts have intensified this week, after Israel attacked Lebanese territory and Hezbollah responded with attacks in the north of the country.
