On the occasion of the Italian Design Day 2024, the Embassy of Italy in Kosovo, the ICE Office in Tirana (ITA/ICE) and the UBT College will organize a round table with students of Architecture and Design, as well as a representation of professionals in this sector. Luisa Maria Virginia Collina, architect and full professor of Design at the Polytechnic of Milan, will discuss with them this year's edition - " Creating value - inclusion, innovation and sustainability". The event will be held on Thursday, March 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the UBT Innovation Capmus Library in Lipjan. In conversation with the professor will also be the Deputy Head of the Mission, Hugo Ferrero and the Rector of UBT Edmond Hajrizi.

Deputy Ambassador Ferrero explains: "The theme of this year's IDD, on which we will reflect together with the students and the professor, aims to address issues with a strong impact on the future of the planet: the value of the production process, which combines tradition and craftsmanship with the most modern techniques in terms of innovation and environmental sustainability. Therefore, quality, but also inclusiveness: the theme of Italian design does not actually aim to address a group of customers, but aims at a broad audience of conscious and buying quality as a factor of renewal, sustainable and responsible development".

For Prof. Collina, who has several collaborations with companies for international research programs and innovative strategic projects in design, "the process is the axis, because it becomes a formal element that is also distinctive, that gives identity to the final result, like a signature. Thanks to the efficient use of resources and innovative technology it is possible to improve products and processes to produce value and promote sustainability."

For the Rector of UBT Mr. Hajrizi, "The Italian Design Day and the opportunity to meet a well-known professional in this sector like Prof. Collina represent a precious opportunity for our students and our teaching staff: as an institution we are actually engaged in promoting innovation and creativity and , in this regard, we are interested in exploring the unique and iconic aspects of the Italian design system. Broadening our view, we are deeply grateful to the Embassy of Italy for recent joint initiatives, also, the activation of a lectureship fully supported by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which has enabled us to include the teaching of the Italian language in our education offer".

Alongside the event organized by the UBT, on the occasion of the Italian Design Day 2024, are planned a series of promotional activities of "Made in Italy", from the ICE Office. Special exhibitions and discounts are planned at various points of sale in the main cities of Kosovo, especially in large-scale local distribution channels. The same trend also includes the innovative exhibition about Pinocchio, curated by ADI Design Museum, which will be inaugurated in "Prishtina Mall", on April 6 and will remain open until the end of the month.

Italian Design Day (Italian Design Day) is the thematic edition launched by the Italian Foreign Ministry in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture. It consists of an extensive program of promotional events around the world, organized by the network of Embassies, Consulates, Italian Cultural Institutes and ICE offices in the country: Every year, for this occasion, over a hundred witnesses (testimonials) become broadcasters of design and creativity of Italy. The edition is established as an effective tool to support the promotion of design and the internationalization of a strategic industrial sector for Italian exports, as well as an impulse for the educational-training component, encouraging the interaction of the higher training system with creative communities abroad to promote the training offer in Italy in the fields of design and creative industries for the growth of new talents and professionalism.
