The Board of the Energy Corporation of Kosovo (KEK) has today (Wednesday) released the former chief executive officer, Nagip Krasniqi.
The announcement states that the Board of Directors of KEK sh.a. has also decided that in the following days the procedures for the public announcement (competition) for the position of the new Chief Executive Officer of the Kosovo Energy Corporation will be initiated.
"The Board of Directors of KEK sh.a. has made a decision to release the former Chief Executive Officer, Nagip Krasniqi, from his position", the announcement states.
On April 19, 2023, the Special Prosecutor's Office arrested the director of KEK, Nagip Krasniqi, on suspicion of having committed "Misuse of official position or authority", "Exercise of influence" and "Conflict of interest".
After the arrest, one month later, the KEK Board suspended Nagip Krasniqi from the post of KEK head.
Whereas, on September 15, 2023, by decision of the Basic Court in Prishtina, Krasniqi was released from detention and this measure was replaced by the one for the prohibition of approaching the country or the person designated in the criminal case against him.
In February of this year, the Board of Directors of KEK appointed Bekir Gërguri as the chief executive officer (acting) in the Energy Corporation of Kosovo.
