After family rift, David Beckham draws up a reunion plan
David Beckham has devised a plan to help reconcile his sons Brooklyn and Romeo after feeling devastated by their reported falling out. The football icon has always prided himself on his strong family ties, but his world has been rocked by this split, according to The Mirror.
As his 50th birthday approaches, David wants his sons to put aside their differences and come together for this special occasion. This has led him to devise a grand plan, which Brooklyn and Romeo certainly won't refuse.
The clashes in the Beckham family began when Romeo introduced his new girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, to the family. Unfortunately for Romeo, older brother Brooklyn has had a past with Kim, as they were very close when she was dating his friend, Rocco Ritchie.
Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz, are said to be unenthusiastic about Kim and have shown this by skipping family events. For years, all the Beckhams have gathered together for their many celebrations, but now Brooklyn has decided to break this tradition. He did not attend David's pre-birthday party in Miami last month, where guests included Lionel Messi and former supermodel Cindy Crawford, KosovaPress reports.
Neither Brooklyn nor Nicola publicly wished Victoria a happy 51st birthday last week, which is very unusual compared to other years. The couple reportedly believe Romeo's new girlfriend has no good intentions in their relationship, The Mirror reports.
However, mother Victoria reportedly adores Kim and Cruz's girlfriend, Jackie Apostel. Amidst these tense relationships in the Beckham family, David is said to have come up with a clever plan to reunite his sons.
"David is preparing to the max for his 50th birthday," a source told The Sun newspaper. "Brooklyn and Nicola are on the guest list, as are Romeo, Cruz and Harper, as well as David and Victoria's parents - it's going to be a real family celebration."
The sports star is expected to gather his sons at the three-Michelin-starred Core restaurant in west London next month. It will be the first time the family has gathered together after many reported clashes.
In another twist, neither Victoria – known for using social media to praise children and celebrate important moments – nor David commented on Brooklyn and Nicola's third wedding anniversary.
According to reports, even Cruz and Romeo did not congratulate the couple. Instead, Brooklyn shared a photo of a bouquet of flowers sent by his in-laws, Nelson Peltz and Claudia Heffner.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, a source told the Daily Mail about the birthday plans and said: "David adores his sons and is very, very proud of how close they are to each other. "He loves the fact that he has a happy family that spends time together."
He also added: "Family is everything to him. He is a working-class boy who grew up with strong ties to his grandparents and parents, and there is nothing that makes him happier than seeing the boys and Harper together.
Even though the party venue will be wonderful, the most important thing for him is that his family is close to him, in harmony and having a good time. Currently, the situation is not good. Everyone hopes they can resolve the issues in time for this big day – for David."
