The voice of Ali through poetry was original, a voice that for decades has strengthened the endurance and survival of his nation, by affirming the Albanian nation and culture as well in international arena. This was said in commemorative gathering organized by the Academy of Sciences.
On this occasion, the head of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosova, Hivzi Islami emphasized that Ali Podrimja lived and worked for Kosova and the freedom of its citizens, ideals and objectives. He said that this great poet wrote for Kosova and Albanians, pain and sacrifice, as well for their hope.
“The voice of Ali through poetry was original, a voice that for decades has strengthened the endurance and survival of his nation, by affirming the Albanian nation and culture as well in international arena. I the mission of affirmation, he died away from homeland, but in service to his homeland, nation and cultural emancipation,” Islami said.
According to him, Ali Podrimja will remain a great poet, as he dedicated his entire life to his poetic and intellectual ideal.
“The great heritage that he left make the great poet Podrimja immortal, who did not stop his path of poetic and intellectual ideal until his last minute. Thus, a monument should be put in center of Prishtina and an important institution for our cultural and national life to have his name,” Islami said.
