Following the alarming results from the air quality monitor for measuring pollution in Pristina’s air installed by the U.S. Embassy in Pristina, National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo (NIPH) announced on Monday that with the high level of air pollution in Kosovo, especially in Pristina, the short-term effects lead us to increasing the number of patients with bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, increased hospital admissions from cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, cancer, shortening of life and increase in the mortality rate.
