The United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon emphasized that both sides should move forwards through dialogue in order to improve the living conditions of citizens and to move together towards the European future.
In frame of his tour to regional countries, on his visit to Serbia, Ban Ki-Moon said that it is of great importance for Western Balkans to promote cooperation and reconciliation, and to resolve the problems through dialogue.
Following the meeting with the outgoing Foreign minister of Serbia and the next chairman of the UN general Assembly, Vuk Jeremic, Ki-Moon said that this is of great importance and precondition in order for the region to move towards European Union, adding that UN is committed to support the region.
Ki-Moon has reminded that 20 years ago this has been a conflict region, whereas nowadays it is focused on the future, whereas Jeremic said that 20 years ago Serbia was excluded from UN, and now it chairs the General Assembly, adding that a difficult period has ended and now Serbia chairs the body from which it was excluded, adding that they will justify the trust on them.
