EU allocates grants for human rights

The main goal of the scheme of these grants is the strengthening the role of civil society in promotion of human rights and democratic reform, in support of the peaceful conciliation of interest groups and in consolidation of participants and political representation.

Grants is planned to begin to be implemented from July, and the issues of human rights will be addressed in innovative way.

In this occasion, the Head of Operations in the Office of the EU in Kosovo Christof Stock, considering the project extremely important, said that EU will continue to financially support such projects also in the future, in order to further improve the human rights.

"We will be available for direct channel of communication with civil society, through various ways of communication. Please use us! We want to hear you and we want to see the issues that concern you. You are the main part of society and you are here to translate and transmit the concerns of society to decision makers, "said Stock.

One of the beneficiaries of grants has been the Association of the Blind of Kosovo. Its chairman, Bujar Kadriu, said the association aiming to implement the best of this project, it has three main goals. According to him, the goal will be awareness of Committee of Blind Kosovo, the evaluation of situation of Kosovo's blind, and protection of their rights through the responsible institutions, so that the blind to feel equal in Kosovo society .

"We are convinced that we will implement these funds and grants with greatest responsibility in order to improve the quality of life of blind persons in Kosovo. The project for the Blind Association of Kosovo is in partnership with two organizations in the region, one of the European Union of the Blind from Italy and in partnership with the Association of the Blind of Montenegro. This project is aimed at raising general awareness in order to improve the situation of the blind in Kosovo, "said Kadri.
