The political analyst, Behxhet Shala evaluated this proposal as impossible for the moment. He told to “Epoka e Re” that the offensive on Kosova has proved that this country is not able to sign a treaty that is proposed by Kuçi. “At the time that Serbia has not accepted us as a state, it is doing everything to destroy us as a state, at the time that it is making plans for Kosova’s partition and it is lobbying in the world not to recognize Kosova’s independence, this is a proof that it is not ready to make any agreement in favor of Kosova, including the peace treaty,” Shala said.
The leader of Vetevendosje Movement, Albin Kurti was among the first ones who have reacted on this idea. He has said that Kosova cannot make peace treaty without having army.
“For what kind of peace treaty with Serbia is Kuçi talking about when Kosova has no army? Peace is made between armies. The peace treaty was the agreement of Kumanova on Kosova between NATO and Yugoslav army, led by Milosevic’s generals,” Kurti said.
Whereas, the deputy prime minister, Hajredin Kuçi continued defending his idea by saying that the peace treaty is set after every conflict between countries.
