Whereas, the head of UNMIK, Farid Zarif, although he mentioned only few achievements of Kosova, his report was focused on stumbles of Kosova during this phase of reporting.
He said that some of these developments in this period of report provide the possibility for optimism, whereas the others are in memory of fragility and instability that are close to the surface, 13 years after the approval of resolution 1244 in 1999.
He mentioned as well the holding of Serbia’s elections in Kosova, which, according to him, were held in accordance with the UNSC resolution 1244.
According to him, the voting on general presidential elections of Serbia was enabled on calm situation on May 6 in Kosova, although the political agreement came quite late. He said that it was enabled and organized by the OSCE in accordance with the UNSC resolution 1244.
While talking about the holding of Serbia’s elections outside resolution 1244 in some of municipalities with Serb majority in Kosova, he said that the leaders of these municipalities should follow another policy in order to get their legitimacy.
