Today's session was based on the indictment filed by the English prosecutor Maria Bamieh against Bujar Bukoshi, Ilir Tolaj, Arbetina Pajaziti, Nexhat Shabani, Ismet Hyseni, Hajrullah Fejza, Zenel Kuçi, Bekim Fusha, Alban Thaçi, Basri Asllani and Imer Ajeti for abuse of official position or authority, mistreatment during their work, abuse of economic authorizations.
While Ilir Tolaj and Nexhat Shabani are accused of establishing harmful contracts, illegal issuance of judicial decisions and efforts for taking bribes, tax evasion and obstruction of evidence.
Today's court hearing for confirmation of the indictment for Ilir Tolaj Bujar Bukoshi and others was conducted by Judge of Eulex Mariola Pasnik, who heard the opinions of the defendants and their defense lawyers.
Although the indictment against Ilir Tolaj and others consists of 24 thousand pages, this is not enough for Ilir Tolaj’s lawyer Bajram Tmava, who after hearing expressed his belief in the innocence of his client.
"Regard to my client, Mr .Ilir Tolaj, I am now more convinced that the indictment has not proved nor the minimum of doubt that he committed offenses for which he is charged. During the investigative procedure that began in 2008 many violations of procedural provisions have been made which should make the indictment unstable. Taking into account those violations that I will elaborate during following sessions, I believe that this indictment will not be proved, "he said.
Also the lawyer of former Minister of Health, Bujar Bukoshi, DestanRukiqi said his client is not accused of corruption, taking bribes, tax evasion, establishing the harmful contracts etc. But, according to Rukiqi against Bukoshi there is only one point of the indictment that has to do with the signing of an indictment made againsthe economic operator "Jona Med."
"Today we were dealt more with some more technical issues and data of all defendants involved in this indictment.
I want to tell to opinion something that I think is important related to Mr. Bukoshi that in this indictment he is not accused of taking bribes, not accused of tax evasion, of the harmful contracts. There is only one point in the indictment against him and the reason he is included in this indictment is because he has signed an indictment that was made against 'Jona Med,' "he said.
