As a result of an operation conducted by the Department of Border Police, the Kosovo Police has arrested nine persons suspected of being dealt with immigrant smuggling. "I have never said there is no presence of the Serbian MIA. That number is around 300 to 400, and how many agents are there, is another question. There may also be cooperators, we should not speculate with accurate statistics.
I have said that the presence of the MIA is illegal and where we have access will arrest them and there will be no place for them, and the number of them is probably boosted a bit, "he said.
Meanwhile, Kosovo Police Director, Shpend Maxhuni, said the recent activities of the Kosovo Police in fighting organized crime, shows the seriousness of the police for providing security and fighting organized crime.

Meanwhile, Director of the Department of Management Shaban Guda said that the detainees have been involved in a group which has made immigrant smuggling. He said that the detainees are citizens of Kosovo, and arrests were made in the town of Mitrovica, Vushtrri, and Podujeva.
According to him, this criminal group had its bases also in other European countries.

"Investigations Unit has successfully managed to arrest nine persons, to arrest a highly organized and sophisticated group dealing with immigrant smuggling, false documents and weapon and ammunition smuggling. This group has mainly made immigrant smuggling from Asian and African countries, "said Guda.
Few days ago, the Kosovo Police had seized a sophisticated laboratory for forgery of documents and a substantial amount of narcotics, etc.
