In this meeting, the Prime Minister of Kosova, Hashim Thaçi stated that Kosovas institutions are working with all capacities in order to have the situation under control and to help the citizens.
On behalf of the Government of Kosova, Thaçi expressed condolences to Reka family and to all citizens of Kosova.
Moreover, he said that the readiness is at highest level and all measures have been taken to overcome this situation.
I reconfirm that the Government of Republic of Kosova has increased the level of readiness of all existing services and of all governmental mechanisms in order to use the entire potential that we have and to support all citizens in entire territory of Republic of Kosova who face difficulties. Thus, we are committed to offer assistance for 24 hours in order to help all citizens of Republic of Kosova with all capacity, Thaçi said.
On the other hand, the Minister of Kosova Security Force, Agim Çeku informed the Security Council that a family consisted of five members in the village Krushë of Dragash, which is located near the village Restelica, is blocked and it is asking for help of institutions.
Today we have another situation. There is a family consisted of five members. They are blocked by snow away from the village. They are alive. We have contact, but it is impossible to reach there. The only way is to send aid. They have requested aid such as means for heating, clothes, food, measures against freezing and some blankets. We are in contact with KFOR, and as soon as the possibility will be created, I believe that KFOR will deliver the aid to this family. Our search and rescue units are as well ready to go there, however any movement to that direction could cause new avalanches, Çeku said.
In addition, he said that the Kosova Security Force is engaged to overcome this situation and until now they have been engaged in 34 operations. In todays operation are engaged 154 members with 24 vehicles.
