Tadic has emphasized that the problem of elections in Kosova exists because Serbia does not have full sovereignty after 1999 and after the approval of resolution 1244, on which it emphasized that UNMIK is responsible for organizing elections in Kosova and not the respective bodies in Serbia, informed Serbian media.
He said that with the Resolution 1244 they protect the remaining part of sovereignty that can be protected in Kosova, adding that if they will act against it, they will violate the international law and they would give the right to opponents.
He emphasized that UNMIK cannot guarantee elections in Kosova, adding that fragile talks with OSCE are being realized and Serbia has no security potentials to organize local elections in Kosova.
