Doctors who operated this patient indicated that he was operated four times earlier, but without success. The operation lasted over 10 hours and now the patient is in better health condition.
Dr. Arsim Morina, head of the operating team, has announced that patient N. Elshani was brought to neurosurgery clinic with a gigantic tumor starting from the brain, bone, subcutaneous skin up to out of skin.
Patient with tumor in the head was diagnosed 6 years ago and he had also sought help from clinics abroad where from Belgrade clinic was released as a case that cannot be treated surgically and was released as a hopeless case.
"I want to inform you about an operation case on last week. One of the successful operations that were performed at our clinic. It is about a patient 44 years old who suffered from gigantic, enormous tumor in the head and brain, starting from the brain, bone, subcutaneous skin up to out of skin.
Patient with tumor in the head was diagnosed 6 years ago, was operated 4 times. He was operated various times in Tirana and Skopje, but for the current condition as he has come, was consulted the Belgrade clinic which released him as a case that cannot be treated surgically and was released as a hopeless case, "he said.
Morina said among the others that the operation to eliminate the 5 kg tumor from the head of Elshani has lasted over 10 hours and everything went according to predictions made by the team of doctors.
"The operation has lasted over 10 hours. There were given 10 doses of blood, approximately three plasma and 17 infusions of digestion.
The operation has gone properly and on this occasion I would like to thank the team of doctors, dr. Agim who is plastic surgeon, because we have thought there will not be enough skin to cover the defect after we remove the tumor, but fortunately there was no need to take skin from other parts of the body, "he said.
According to Morina, there are many cases who are treated abroad and do not succeed and then they are forced to seek help in UCCK.
He also requires all Kosovo patients, time to be announced to UCCK doctors and not to wander about looking for treatment abroad because they may waste their time and to hinder the recovery.
