The citizens were complaining recently that KEK is disconnecting them from the power network without warning. However, the consumer protection officer in ERO, Petrit Haziri said that the invoice has the deadline for payment, however it has as well the additional timeline when the consumer should receive the notice for disconnection.
There is a legal term within which KEK, or the company that provides consumers with power supply, does not disconnect them from the power supply. Every invoice has the certain period of time within which the consumer cannot be disconnected. This primary term of the invoice from consumers side until its payment is two weeks. It should not be shorter than 15 days, Haziri said.
However, according to Haziri, if the invoice is not paid within the timeline of 15 days, there is another timeline when KEK sends the disconnection notice to the consumer, and according to him, it should not be shorter than 15 says.
In cases when the consumer does not pay the invoice, there is as well the notice that should not be shorter than 15 days, and in that notice are defined the circumstances and actions that the consumers should undertake in case that they do not want to be disconnected from power supply, Haziri said.
