Kosova is exporting more to China than in neighboring countries as Macedonia or Serbia. The main exports are metals from “Trepça” and chrome from “Ferronikeli”.
The statistics show a significant increase of Kosova’s exports to China.
In 2011 Kosova’s exports to China’s market were worth 28.1 million euro.
This made the participation of Chinese market to be 9,0%, by exceeding the other countries of the region, as Turkey, Macedonia, Serbia and Switzerland.
According to the research of the Strategic and Social Research Center – STRAS, in the previous years export to China was low.
“The only newness is these developments is the increase of export to China from 31 000 euro in 2008 to 28.1 million euro in 2011, and the participation of this market is 9%, by exceeding the countries of the region, as Turkey, Macedonia, Serbia and Switzerland,” reads the report of STRAS “Kosova between East and West”.
The main exporters to China are Ferronikel and Trepça. Whereas, they export mainly metals and their products and chrome from Ferronikel.
The spokesperson for “Trepça” enterprise, Bislim Muçaj said that mainly the remnant of zinc metallurgy is exported to China.
