The Ministry of Agriculture and the Initiative for Agriculture Development of Kosova (IADK) have signed a cooperation memorandum, and the role of IADK on facilitating the process of establishment of national union of farmers in Kosova is recognized.
In addition, this memorandum enables the farmers to be actively involved in creation of policy, legislation and their implementation.
The minister of Agriculture, Blerand Stavileci said that it is very important to have one line of communication and a better organization.
We consider that different associations, whose legal status is as governmental organization is important to speak with one reasonable voice to represent their requests. We as a ministry are facing many requests, including complaints and concerns that are expressed to us, despite of our will to resolve them on the right way, it happens for a certain request to come from an organization, afterwards it is interpreted in different way from a representative in individual way, or when we go on the ground the representatives of the same association have other requests as well, Stavileci said.
Whereas, the executive director of IADK, Zenel Bunjaku said that the projects foresees for the union to be functional within three years and it is possible to be practical, as the associations that will access this union will be selected in democratic way.
