The MPs of Kosovas Parliament are discussing the budget for 2012, and the Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi said that it was built based on policy of good governance. He evaluated it as budget of successes and promises that Government has kept, whereas the opposition considered it as pledge of wrong electoral policies and promises. The budget for 2012 is foreseen to be 1.5 billion euro, whereas an economic growth of 5% is foreseen.
The Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi said that this budget is a proof of efforts of Kosovas Government to move forward the social aspects through economic development.
This budget is based on realistic projects of incomes and expenses in the period when the world is in financial crisis. It shows the prioritized policies of the Government, thus it was built based on policy of good governance, which reflects our engagement to move forward in all strategic sectors that have direct impact in economic development of the country. This budget reflects increase of finances in the agricultural sector, capital projects, road Morine-Merdare, infrastructure in education, health and telecommunication. In fact we can be proud that as many European countries have faced stagnation, Kosova has reached to maintain the economic growth, which will be stable, Thaçi said.
Whereas, the minister of Finances, Bedri Hamza by presenting the bill on the budget, said that it reflects Governments priorities harmonized with the International Monetary Fund and it in an integral work of all budgetary organizations.
The economic growth is evaluated to be 5%. We were careful with regard to economic growth for the coming period. Kosova has priority needs, however our goal was to maintain the top priority which is macro-fiscal stability. We got harmonized with IMF and projected the deficit within parameters. Regarding the incomes, the positive trend of incomes in Customs and Tax Administration continues, and the budget is foreseen to be around 1.5 billion euro, Hamza said.
The highway Vermice-Merdare remains one of the biggest investments of the Government of Kosova, for which the Government has allocated 296 million euro.
