The MPs of Kosova’s Parliament reelected Hasan Preteni as director of Anti-Corruption Agency for the 5-year mandate. Out of 94 MPs that were present in the voting, 54 voted for Hasan Preteni, 30 MPs voted for the candidate Bashkim Zeqiri, whereas 10 votes were invalid.
Based on the competition announced by Kosova’s Parliament for selection of director of Anti-Corruption Agency, the director can be elected in this post for two mandates. The director of the Agency has the salary at the level of salary of the head of Parliamentary Commission of Kosova’s Parliament.
Whereas, the responsibilities and competences of director of AKK are to lead and organize the work of the Agency, supervises the work of employees of the Agency, represents the Agency in Kosova and abroad, manages the budget of the Agency and is responsible for the way of spending it, establishes cooperation agreements with other domestic and international institutions in accordance with the law and so on.
